Director Bill Perrine brings us It’s Gonna Blow, a documentary about San Diego’s underground music history during the decade from 1986 to 1996.
Lou Niles narrates as Perrine shows archival performance footage, pictures, and interviews, painting a stunningly vivid picture of a musically rich decade in San Diego and Southern California history.

Built In Sun is a new project from Joe Plummer (Cold War Kids/The Shins/Modest Mouse/Black Heart Procession) and Pall Jenkins (Black Heart Procession/Three Mile Pilot/Mr. Tube and the Flying Objects).
I met up with Joe and Pall in South Park. We talked about the new album, how it came to be, the songwriting process, and what we can look forward to from the band:
THE HISTORY OF BUILT IN SUN
Joe was working on a collection of music during breaks between drumming for The Shins and Cold War Kids releases. Joe asked Pall if he would work on some vocals and lyrics for a track. Pall said yes, and what came out of that collaboration sounded so good that a band was born.
D.Dove is a hip-hop artist based out of San Diego, CA known for her acclaimed record produced by Factor entitled “Screwg Mc Dovey”, she has toured nationwide and has developed an organic following earning her high profile touring slots and a reputation for staying true to her art form. Her next official release is said to be an album entitled “Chish” co-produced by Dj Tramlife featuring her classic delivery over a fresh landscape that many are excited to hear.
